Sheet 03 of 08Design systems at three companies
Back to plate 03

The same system, three times

I built the design systems at Aepsy on Base UI, and at Employment Hero and GEN on Radix. At Employment Hero that meant resolving 50+ UI inconsistencies and documenting the results in Storybook so the fixes held. At GEN the Radix system was shared across the micro frontends. At Aepsy the components serve one codebase that ships as web, iOS and Android.

AepsyMay 2026 - Present, Base UI
  1. Aepsy: Base UI in the stack; the codebase ships as web, iOS and Android.

Why it is hard

A design system is judged by other engineers' output, so the components have to hold across three codebases, platforms and teams, and the fixes only stick where they are documented.
